\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tClimate change, exacerbated by the excessive use resources and the degradation of the natural ecosystems, has been linked to the spread of the infectious diseases such as the novel viruses. Climate change is closely related to the COVID-19 pandemic.\n

\nThe past 50 years features the global population to double, yet, the resource consumption tripled. The continuous increase of resource consumption has accelerated the depletion of the resources, thus calls for a circular economy as a mitigation measure.\n

\nThe problems on waste are becoming more severe, as can be observed in the increasing quantity of waste plastics and marine wastes. This emphasizes the need to shift to a circular economy that can foster eco-friendly production and consumption by extending product life cycles through reusing and recycling.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Korean government recently announced its New Deal project that aims to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and revitalize the domestic economy and with the Green New Deal as a part of this initiative. Europe has already adopted the European Green Deal in December 2019 as a new growth strategy to address the existential threats of climate change and environmental degradation. This is a sustainable growth strategy that considers climate and environment as essential components of policies towards realizing a just and inclusive transition. \nTo transition to a modern, self-efficient and competitive economy, the circular economy is discussed as one of the sustainable growth strategies in the European Green Deal.\n

\nSouth Korea\u2019s Green New Deal advocates the shift from a linear to circular economy. Accordingly, companies need to re-examine their business models and establish new strategies in line with the Paris Agreement and the sustainable development goals. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
