  • Stuart Ravens is a principal research analyst contributing to Navigant Research’s Utility Transformations program. Ravens focuses on utility digitization, analyzing topics such as IT, analytics, transactive energy, blockchain, and changing utility business models. His work covers utility and vendor strategies for managing the transformation to a distributed future, as well as how new technologies, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, can offer utilities a future competitive advantage. Additionally, he covers the significant barriers to digital transformation and how utilities can manage them to their advantage. Ravens has been an analyst for more than 20 years. For the past 10 years, his work has focused on the use of technology by utilities. He has played a lead role in the delivery of custom research and advisory work for many utilities, IT vendors, service providers, and renewables specialists.     Mr. Lawrence Orsini served as Director of Business Development at Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. Mr. Orsini served as Director of Strategy & Client Relations at Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. Mr. Orsini served as Policy Analyst of Idaho Office at Northwest Power and Conservation Council. Mr. Orsini has over 18 years of experience in business development, planning and management. For fifteen years, he worked as an Engine Machinist on everything from race cars to locomotive engines. Mr. Orsini then served at an energy consulting firm. Later, he started his own business in energy consulting and renewable energy. In 2003, he joined Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. (PECI) to be a part of their new grocery program. He has strong business sense and ability to draw the connections between energy efficiency and financial opportunities. Mr. Orsini spearheaded the groundbreaking EnergySmart Grocer program which makes energy efficiency immediately financially viable for grocers. He also developed key customer and contractor tracking system for PECI EnergySmart and EnergySmart Grocer programs to track bid requests, bid responses, and retrofit activity for each facility. Mr. Orsini designed and implemented a comprehensive four-year program to resolve persistence of energy saving issues for EnergSmart and EnergySmart Grocer program participants. His pragmatic approach to problem solving coupled with a penchant for new and innovative ways of realizing savings has helped drive a dramatic expansion of PECI's Commercial Retail sector. He served as a Director of Portland Energy Conservation, Inc.

  • Dr. Axel von Perfall is a Senior Manager in the Energy & Utilities Team of PwC. His focus is on the digital transformation of power & utility companies. This includes smart metering, smart home, business analytics and blockchain technology. He has extensive expertise in the development of sales- and go-to-market-strategies. Axel von Perfall is the author of the studies “Utility companies on their journey towards digitalization” and “Blockchain in the Power & Utility industries”. He is based in Berlin, Germany.

    Axel von Perfall advises European utility companies in the development of Blockchain-based business models, prototypes and proof-of-concepts. He maintains a strong network to startup companies and Blockchain developer companies.

    Axel von Perfall holds a degree in business administration and has over 15 years of consulting experience: he worked for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and later had a consulting firm specialized in renewable energies. He is fluent in German, English and French.

  • Based in Perth, Western Australia, Vinod leads Power Ledger’s Business Development and Sales teams. Vinod is leveraging his many years working within the energy sector with Perth Energy, Future Effect and Regen Power to connect with client stakeholders across power and business domains, as well as across various third party providers in Australia and overseas markets to support the delivery of Power Ledger’s blockchain offering, building new propositions and enhance existing customer experiences.

    Vinod has over 25 years of experience in operations, senior sales and business development roles within the renewable energy and other engineering industries. He has a successful track record of building and defending market share, expanding product lines, developing renewable portfolio and developing and executing long term strategies to achieve challenging sales targets and influencing key stakeholders at board and senior management levels. Most recently, Vinod was General Manager Sales at Perth Energy (2007 - 2016) with responsibility for all gas and electricity sales. In this role, Vinod successfully grew the energy sales portfolio from $20 million annual turnover to more than $300 million. Previous roles include managing engineering, technical sales and business development for General Electric Company’s joint venture with Wipro in India.

    Vinod holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia. He also participated at the Executive Leadership Program at University of California, Berkley, USA.

  • Nick Gogerty is a financial and technology expert who invented the Solarcoin global solar energy reward system based on low carbon blockchain technology. In 2017 he won the MIT Solve Challenge for Chronic Disease at the UN for the healthcoin concept.

    In 2016 his Electraseed concept for solar energy nano-grids to help the emerging world won an Energy unlocked prize at UN COP 22 in Marrakech. He has advised the UNEP, UNDP, UNFCCC and G20 on blockchain technology and green finance. He has worked for some of the world’s largest banks and hedge funds and is an ivy league published author The Nature of Value 2014 Columbia University. He guest lectures in the Executive MBA program at Columbia University in the value investing program.

    He currently serves as Sr. advisor to Solarcoin and as Chief Strategist for the Lykke exchange based in Switzerland

    He holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a focus on economic sustainability from the University of Iowa, and an MBA from Ecole de Ponts ET Chausses, Paris, France. He has held Series 3, 7, 63 & FSA licenses and the CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) designation. After living in 6 countries he has settled down in the greater New York area with his family.

    I’m am really excited with the new challenge, ready to undertake the huge amount of work that this adventure will require. 2018 will be a year full of work, as there is too much to do. But I see the evolution of ClimateCoin very close to the words that Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary at United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), told on December 12th, 2015 during the signing of the Paris Agreement: "We have moved from an impossible agreement to an unstoppable agreement".

    Mr. Benedito started his first company at the age of 16, an online bookstore in Spain. He worked in banking for 14 years, running an M&A firm and acting as regional manager for a leading bank focused on wealth management and technology. He has founded a number of different tech start-ups and often acts as an independent investment advisor. He is passionate about business and technology, especially the potential of blockchains to combat climate change. His focus today is to grow ClimateCoin into an organization that can make a positive impact in the world.   • Sungwoo Kim has a master in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Duke University in US, and PhD in Business Administration from Seoul School of Integrated Science and Technology(aSSIST) in Korea.

    For last 25 years, he developed his career in business development and investment at POSCO(World Top 5 Steel Maker) as an energy investment manager and KPMG as a regional head of Climate Change and Sustainability of KPMG Asia Pacific to lead 12 countries and direct projects of investment/strategy/policy such as regulation framework, compliance strategy, investment advisory, corporate strategy, and social responsibility consulting, and now he leads environment & energy research center at Kim & Chang(the biggest law firm in Korea) as well as an adjunct professor of Korea University in Earth & Environmental Sciences. Also, based on the comprehensive experience from engineering to financing as well as from theory to execution in this field, he was a focal member of advisory board of Asia Clean Energy Fund, a member of external advisory group for World Bank, a member of Private Sector Advisory Committee of GGGI, a vice chairman of Korea ∙ Mongolia Economics & Business Association, an external technical expert for GCF, a member of expert committee for the President of KOICA, and a Board member of International Emission Trading Association(IETA). Now, he is a senior advisor for the Korean Governments and corporates.

    With frequent publications, media exposure, speech & panel at major global conferences such as B4E(Business for Environment), Carbon Expo(Innovate 4 Climate), Carbon Finance, Asia Clean Energy Forum as a prominent Asian speaker, he teaches in executive MBA in many renowned universities to always reinforce the relationships with the decision makers from private sector.

Before joining KT, Sunguk served over 15 years at NTT DoCoMo, the largest Japanese mobile operator including four year experience of New York office in USA.

    He has had a vast experience in new business development, global M&A and wireless network development, etc. He has an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS/MS in Electronics Engineering from Waseda University in Japan.

  • Hyoseop Lee is currently a chief technology officer of Encored Technologies.

    He graduated from Seoul National University with a BS of Mathematics and has MS and Ph.D. of Computational Science & Technology from Seoul National University.

    He won his first award in 5th EASIAM Student Paper Competition in June 2009.

    He used to be a software engineer in Amail, Inc. in Korea from 2000 to 2003. Also, he was a research intern in Bell Labs, New Jersey and a postdoctoral researcher in University of Wyoming, US. Before he joined Encored Technologies, he worked as a member of technical staff in Bell Labs Seoul.
