Keynote Speech Michael Reiterer
Dr. Michael Reiterer is Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Korea since 2017. The EU Ambassador has previously held the position of Principal Advisor at the Asia and Pacific Department, European External Action Service (EEAS), Brussels, in charge of strategic and security matters. He also previously served as EU Ambassador to Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein (2007-2011), Minister/Deputy Head of the EU-Delegation to Japan (2002-2006) and ASEM Counselor (1998-2002).
Before joining the EU in 1998 he was Minister-Counselor at the Austrian Permanent Representation to the EU/Brussels, Counselor at the Permanent Representation of Austria to the GATT, Co-chair of the Joint Experts Group at the OECD on trade and environment, WTO-panelist, Deputy Director General for European Integration and Trade Policy at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber as well as Austrian Deputy Trade Commissioner to West Africa and Japan.
Michael Reiterer studied law at the University of Innsbruck (Dr. juris) and holds diplomas in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University/Bologna Center and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. In 2005, he was appointed adjunct professor (Dozent) for international politics at the University of Innsbruck. Time permitting, he teaches at various universities and specializes in EU foreign policy, EU-Asia relations and interregionalism, areas in which he has published extensively.

YoungYull Kim has been working in the chemical industry for about 30 years. Prior, he majored in chemistry at Yonsei University and studied further for a master’s degree in organic chemistry at the same institution. After working at Henkel that majors in a global consumer and industrial products, he developed expertise in various areas, which include positions as the vice president of the Asia-Pacific Care Chemical Business of Cognis and Cognis Korea CEO.
Since 2010, he served as the president of chemical business division in BASF Korea and vice president of BASF Asia-Pacific Dispersion division in recognition of his rich domestic and foreign market experience and capabilities.
YoungYull Kim, who led the expansion of BASF Dispersion business, once again showed his excellent leadership by creating high customer satisfaction in various markets. After he gained recognition for his contribution, he has been serving as the CEO of BASF Korea since October 1, 2018.
Since then, he has been leading BASF Korea with the corporate goal of “We create a sustainable future” to make economic success as well as environmental protection and social responsibility.
Session 1 You Jong-Il
Dr. Jong-Il You graduated from Seoul National University and received his Ph. D in Economics from Harvard University. He taught at University of Cambridge, UK, University of Notre Dame, USA and Ritsumeikan University, Japan before taking Professorship at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. He also held Visiting Professor positions at University of California, San Diego, USA and University of Beijing, China. He has published numerous articles in such areas as economic growth, income distribution, macroeconomic policies, development and labor issues. He has also authored and edited fifteen volumes, including his most recent brainchild and an influential policy proposal, ‘A Transformative New Deal’. As an active policy advisor, Dr. You served as a member of the Presidential Committee on Northeast Asia Economic Hub and chaired the Special Committee on Economic Democracy of the Democratic Party. He also served as a member of the Public Funds Management Committee, the Advisory Committee for the Constitutional Revision Committee of the National Assembly, and the Commission on Financial Administration Reform. In addition, Dr. You has been an influential advocate of economic and political reforms as a broadcaster, columnist, and a leader in civic movement. He founded and led Knowledge Cooperative for Good Governance, a network of reform-minded researchers, and Jubilee Bank, an NGO working to help the debt-stricken.

Born in Jeju island which is famous for beautiful nature, She have been worried that her hometown being contaminated. So she establish the company named of “Remedy” means “Cure”for resolve this enviromental problem not only in this small island but also all over the world from 2020.

I majored in public administration at Harvard Kennedy School, and then worked as a head of the Strategic Planning Division at the Korea Textile Technology Research Institute after experiencing as a manager of the Strategic Group at Samjung KPMG, and then served as president of the CEO of a steel company with annual sales of 500 billion won for 4 years.
Discussion Chairperson Hur Daesik
Professor, School of Business, Yonsei University
Dr. Daesik Hur is a professor of operations and supply chain management at the School of Business of Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He is the president of the Korean Production and Operations Management Society and holds the vice president positions for the Korean Association of Small Business Studies and the Korean Logistics Academy Association, respectively. He also currently serves Journal of Operations Management as associate editor. Professor Hur is the past president of the Asia Pacific Decision Sciences Institute. He also served as vice dean of Sangnam Institute of Management and associate dean of the Yonsei University School of Business. His research interests include global supply chain strategy, supplier development and innovation, and operations strategy. Professor Hur graduated from Yonsei University with B.A. and M.A. in Economics, and achieved his Ph.D in business administrations from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, U.S.A.
